　　BattleBots is a robot combat competition that takes place in an elimination style tournament. Designers build, operate and battle their destructive robots until a champion is crowned.

　　英国演员Peter Serafinowicz先前作为主演加盟Amazon的试映集《闪电超人 The Tick》。本剧根据Ben Edlund的漫画改编的、以全新演员阵容翻拍；Edlund曾在2001在Fox创作了同名真人版剧，同时也是1994年动画片的创作人，这一次他又将重新执笔，幷还将担任本剧的执行制片人。
　　新版将把这个肌肉发达的蓝色超级英雄（Serafinowicz饰）重新带回观众的视线。新版本中，闪电超人从失忆中恢复过来，他不想再与 Arthur（Griffin Newman饰）组队打击邪恶了。同时新版本中还将加入很多新的角色，其中还包括Arthur的妹妹Dot（Valorie Curry饰）。
　　Brendan Hines饰演的Superian，一个有些个人问题的超级英雄。奥斯卡提名者Jackie Earle Haley加盟Amazon试映集《闪电超人 The Tick》，饰演重要的反派角色The Terror，他是个有强大能力的超级坏蛋，而且是漫画中邪恶联盟的领袖。在2001年的Fox版中，该角色由Armin Shimerman饰演。
　　在Fox的版本中，饰演闪电超人的演员是Patrick Warburton，他有望作为新版的执行制片人；Wally Pfister将执导试映集。

　　In the wake of Eamon Cunningham’s death, the Kinsella family is thriving. However a new threat rears its head when members of a Turkish cartel inform the Kinsellas that Eamon owed a them sizable debt – and since they killed him, the debt is now theirs. Elsewhere, Viking is released from prison intent on making trouble, Amanda suffers a personal tragedy, and a looming presence from inside the family returns.
　　The new season will see the Kinsellas at the top of the game in Dublin, but killing Eamon Cunningham has created as many problems as it solved. They have incurred the wrath of an enemy even more dangerous than him. And where once there were unbreakable bonds of blood and family, now there is only suspicion, distrust, and resentment. But the greatest threat to the family emerges from within: in the shape of a ruthless, bullying, agent of chaos. Fortunately, from positions of great adversity the boldest plans are often forged. And so it is with the Kinsellas.
　　Returning cast includes Charlie Cox (Daredevil), Clare Dunne (Herself), Aidan Gillen (Game of Thrones), Sam Keeley (Joe vs Carole), Emmett J. Scanlan (Peaky Blinders), Maria Doyle Kennedy (Outlander), and Yasmin Seky. Francis Magee also returns this season.
