故事开始于遥远而又神秘的西藏，一个小男孩出生了，在预言中，这个男孩拥有非常强大的力量，而将光明带到这个世界上，横扫黑暗，是他一出生就背负的使命。当然，小男孩的存在最终还是被一帮邪恶的势力发现了，以撒陀魔为首的邪恶势力绑架了这个男孩。失去了男孩的庇佑，整个地球都被置于了危险的境地之中。
　　男主角（艾迪·墨菲 Eddie Murphy 饰）是一个在洛杉矶上班的平凡职员，一次偶然中被先知告知，他被选中成为了拯救小男孩的勇者。他在功夫女郎姬（J·L·列阿特 J.L. Reate 饰）的帮助下，男主角开始学习各种技能，并且踏上了前往东方的旅途。

　　老牌喜剧明星威尔·法瑞尔和约翰·C·赖利将再次联手，加盟索尼喜剧新片《福尔摩斯与华生》。法瑞尔和赖利分饰大侦探福尔摩斯与福尔摩斯的助手华生。
　　法瑞尔主演的《狱前教育》导演伊坦·柯亨，他将担任《福尔摩斯&华生》的导演。该片剧本受阿瑟·柯南·道尔的福尔摩斯系列小说启发，是一部PG-13的喜剧。索尼最初买下剧本时，本来想让法瑞尔和萨莎·拜伦·科恩（《塔拉迪加之夜：瑞奇鲍比的民谣》）主演，但后来没了下文。
　　索尼计划今年感恩节（11月24日）后马上开拍。预计在明年可以上映。

　　自从三年前闹得整个巴黎鸡飞狗跳之后，探员杰奎斯·克鲁索(史蒂夫·马丁 Steve Martin 饰)日常工作就是街边检查一下违规停放的车辆，但还是屡屡搞砸，几番折腾，他终于做出了最后决定：告别法国！突然世界各地，价值连城的文物一一失窃，而"粉红豹"钻戒也失窃了。顶头上司 指名点姓，一定要勇破上回"粉红豹"疑案的克鲁索，总督察雷福斯(约翰·克里斯 John Cleese 饰)只好召回这个让人头疼的探长。

　　一个美国女大学生桑德拉（斯嘉丽·约翰逊 Scarlett Johansson 饰），为了替学校报纸寻找独家新闻，来到英国伦敦采访一个电影导演。在调查和采访的过程中，她参加了魔术师希德（伍迪·艾伦 Woody Allen 饰）一次魔术戏法表演，在密闭的箱中她遇见了一个离世 的资深记者鬼魂。记者生前是一个为了拿到独家新闻无所不尽其用的人。他在去往阴间的船上从一个被害的前任秘书口中得知“塔罗牌杀手”竟然是英俊多金的贵族彼得（休·杰克曼 Hugh Jackman 饰）。他不想让这有爆炸性的新闻埋葬，于是找上桑德拉希望她帮他完成心愿。

　　Nick and Nora's hopes for a pleasant afternoon at the local race track are dashed when a jockey is found shot dead in the locker room. Nick's friend Lt. Abrams wants him to help out but Nick is enjoying the good life too much to get involved. However, he is subsequently approached by Major Scully to look into corruption and the role of organized crime in gambling. Others are killed but in the end, Nick gathers all of the suspects into a room and identifies the killer.

　　When Phil and his wife seek help from Nick and Nora, Nick refuses to get involved.
　　But when shots are fired outside his own apartment, Nick begins to investigate, and he soon finds himself in a confusing case with numerous suspects.
　　Nick and Nora Charles were the ultimate screen couple, husband and wife detectives, always in step and never missing an opportunity to outwit one another as they solved each crime, which they did just in time for the movie's ending.
　　Myrna Loy was a fantastic Nora, the ideal wife and considering she made 14 movies with William Powell, she made it look like they were really married.
　　The Thin Man movies, all six of them, played more like sophisticated screwball comedies than murder mysteries, and their comic banter enhanced the proceedings.
　　Their little wire-haired terrier, Asta, quite often stole the scene as he helped sleuth out the guilty party.
　　He was a great little actor and rumor had it that away from the Thin Man movies, Asta was really Skippy.
　　However, the six Thin Man movies credit this cute pooch as "Asta."

　　A quick glimpse at the cast for this film would make any horror fan giddy with glee. The actual movie doesn't live up to those high expectations, but it's far from being all bad. Desi Arnaz Jr. (!) plays an author who makes a crazy $20,000 bet with his publisher that he could write a great novel in only 24 hours. To do so, the publisher gives him the keys to an old abandoned house where he won't be disturbed. Not true. Once he gets there he is interrupted by a multitude of guests including a family which consists of John Carradine, Sheila Keith, Peter Cushing and Vincent Price. They are gathered there in a twisted family reunion to release their brother from the room he's been imprisoned in for forty years. Even Christopher Lee drops by as Corrigan, the man who has just purchased the house. Soon, they realize that the caged brother is loose and out for revenge.
　　What a great plotline and what a dream cast! This movie should have been a hell of a lot better. It's hard to pinpoint the exact problems with the film, but I would venture to say that the lack of lighting was a major fault. Sure the house has no electricity but I think they took the title of the movie a little too literally. Scenes after scenes are barely visible and the actors' faces are undecipherable. Only the moments in the main dinning hall are well lit. Also, the great actors are given very little to do. Cushing gets a few chuckles as the scared brother but Price, Lee and especially Carradine are somewhat wasted here. Well, at least Price gets the best line of the film: `Please don't interrupt me while I am soliloquizing.' And on the plus side, the story has enough twists and turns throughout to keep one`s interest and the ending, while a bit of a cop-out, manages to surprise.
